The
Level 1 STD Testing package tests for several common sexually transmitted
diseases. The test screens for the following sexually transmitted diseases:
HIV
HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. People become infected through unprotected
sex, sharing contaminated needles, and breast milk.
Hepatitis B
This contagious disease can affected people differently. Some may experience
mild forms of the illness that lasts for a few weeks, or suffer from the
illness for the rest of their lives. People can become infected with Hepatitis
B by using needles of an infected person or through sexual contact.
Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and 2 (IgG) Blood Test
Herpes is caused by two forms for the herpes simplex virus, herpes simplex
virus 1 (HSV-1) and herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2). The Health Testing Centers
Level 1 STD test can detect both. HSV-1 causes oral herpes. Typically, this
form or herpes is found on the lips and mouth. Herpes simplex 2 virus causes
genital herpes. The virus is contracted through contact with an open sore or
body fluid of an infected individual.
Syphilis
Syphilis is transmitted through anal, vaginal and oral sex. Syphilis has many
symptoms, most of which cannot be distinguished from other diseases. Syphilis
is treatable with antibiotics. If syphilis is not diagnosed, will remain
untreated. Syphilis can cause irreversible damage to the brain, nerves and
bones. In some situations it can cause death.
