The Vertical Auto Profile (VAP) Cholesterol test is a comprehensive analysis of a individual's risk for heart disease and diabetes measuring 22 different subclasses of cholesterol. The detailed information that the VAP technology provides a powerful tool to diagnose potential cardiac problems that may be overlooked or misdiagnosed using standard testing. 

Lipoprotein Subfractionation Profile 

The Lipoprotein Subfraction tests can measure up to 20 different factors, including the size and pattern of cholesterol particles. Learning particle size provides a more detailed picture of your cholesterol levels, as smaller particles are more difficult for your body eliminate. These smaller particles (pattern B) may lead to choosing more aggressive tactics in lowering your cholesterol. 

This profile can provide an important advantage for patients with a family history of heart disease allowing early identification of factors that need to be addressed.

Results from this test will take 5 to 7 days.  This is a FASTING test.
